These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the official Hwa Chong Institution (“HCI”, “the School”) merchandise e-commerce platform (“Platform”). The Platform is established for the purpose of facilitating the purchase of school-related merchandise by students. By accessing or using this Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. ELIGIBILITY AND AUTHORISED USE

1.1 The Platform is intended solely for current HCI students and, where applicable, their parents or legal guardians.

1.2 By placing an order, you confirm that you are authorised to do so and that all information provided is accurate, complete, and up to date.

1.3 The Platform may only be used for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. Any misuse, unauthorised access, or attempt to disrupt Platform operations is strictly prohibited.

2. NATURE OF PLATFORM

2.1 This Platform is operated as part of HCI’s administrative and student-related services. Merchandise is sold for school-related purposes and not as a commercial retail enterprise.

2.2 The School reserves the right to manage product availability, pricing, and distribution in accordance with operational and educational considerations.

3. PRODUCTS AND PRICING

3.1 All merchandise sold is official HCI-related merchandise. Prices are stated in Singapore Dollars (SGD), unless otherwise indicated.
3.2 HCI reserves the right to:

• Modify or discontinue products without prior notice
• Update pricing, descriptions, or specifications where necessary
• Limit purchase quantities per order or per user

3.3 Product images are for illustration purposes only. Actual colours, fit, sizing, or design details may vary due to manufacturing processes, material batches, or display settings. Size charts are provided as a guide only.

4. ORDERS AND PAYMENT

4.1 An order is considered confirmed only upon successful payment and issuance of an order confirmation.

4.2 HCI reserves the right to reject or cancel any order due to:

• Incorrect pricing or product information
• Stock unavailability
• Suspected misuse, unauthorised access, or breach of these Terms

4.3 Payments must be made through approved payment methods available on the Platform.

4.4 Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any account credentials and for all activities conducted under their account.

5. DELIVERY, COLLECTION, AND DISTRIBUTION

5.1 Merchandise may be delivered and collected on campus.

5.2 Estimated timelines may be provided but are not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to operational requirements, school activities, supplier timelines, or other unforeseen circumstances.

6. EXCHANGES, REFUNDS, AND CANCELLATIONS

6.1 All sales are generally final, unless otherwise stated.

6.2 Exchanges may be considered only in cases of:

• Manufacturing defects
• Incorrect items supplied

6.3 Requests must be submitted within [e.g. 7 days] of collection and receipt and must include proof of purchase.

6.4 Items must be unused, unwashed, and in original condition with tags and packaging intact. HCI reserves the right to decline requests that do not meet these conditions.

6.5 Except for manufacturing defects, merchandise is provided on an “as is” basis without warranties of any kind.

7. USE OF MERCHANDISE

7.1 Merchandise bearing HCI’s name, logo, or insignia is for personal use only by students and families.

7.2 Such merchandise may not be resold, modified for resale, or used for commercial or promotional purposes without prior written approval from the School.

8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All Platform content, including logos, designs, text, images, and materials, is the property of HCI or its licensors. Unauthorised reproduction, distribution, or use is strictly prohibited.

9. PLATFORM AVAILABILITY

The Platform is provided on an “as available” basis. HCI does not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free access at all times.

10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HCI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from use of the Platform or purchase of merchandise.

11. FORCE MAJEURE

HCI shall not be liable for delays or failure to perform obligations due to events beyond its reasonable control, including school closures, public health measures, supplier delays, or operational disruptions.

12. CHANGES TO TERMS

HCI may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.

14. ACCEPTANCE
By proceeding with a purchase, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
